Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 16 – Remembering The Stories Vampires Tell To Little Children.
***This wasn’t beta-‘ed***
Once upon a time.
There were once three might sorceries that took over the land of Volterra, enslaving it’s people and forcing the royal family to leave.
The First Sorcerer could know a person life with one touch, everything, No one could lie to him.
The Second Sorcerer could see the strings and chains connecting the hearts of each person.
The Third Sorcerer couldn’t see the strings like the second, but with his help it could change them.
The three used their abilities to get more and more power, conquering not the land, but other sorceries of equal power.
The King and Queen retreated, to a far way to the Olympic Land, there they had two princes and one princess there.
The First prince could hears everyone souls and hearts.
The Second prince was the biggest and the strongest.
The First Princess was the smallest but she had the power to see fate.
Despite those great gifts they aren’t strong enough, and the Princes and Princesses searched for people to fight alongside them. They found the Gold-headed twins a Princess and a Prince.
The Second Princess was the fairest and most beautiful, The Second prince married her instantly.
The Last Prince was one that control hearts, but was a kind soul that lead fairly, never abusing his power. The First Princess foresaw they marrying and so they did.
But that was still not enough, and the First prince was alone, so they kept walking the Olympic land, then one day the First prince, heard something that he had never heard before.
A silent heart.
The Young Villager was not a princess, but the daughter of a valiant warrior, yet her heart was completely quiet to the First Prince, who was instantly snared by her mystery.
The Young Villager become the Last Princess, marrying the First Prince, she was born with a heart of gold protected from all magic…
—
“And the Last Princess became the Golden Empress ruling the land of Volterra with wisdom and justice.”
“Women can’t rule” Sally protested.
“Of course they can” Sasha said smiling benevolently.
“Russia, Sasha’s homeland” I said “They had a empress called Katherine, The Great, she was one of the finest rulers of Russia, and probably the most remembered.”
“Oh” Sally said surprised, and I tucked her in the bed.
Out in the hallway with the door closed I kissed Sasha “Only you to make Sally like fairy tales.”
Richard and Mom had to leave to get his parents in the airport, there was a flight delay and they had to wait, several hours, as a result, Sally asked Sasha to read him a bedtime story.
I wasn’t sure why, but Sally just took an instantaneous liking for Sasha, and he for her. Apparently, as much as my mother had pushed the issue for Sasha to not try get near Sally she forgot the possibility that Sally would like him. My little sister was probably the only female in the universe that could ask for Sasha’s attention and make me melt with cuteness.
“I wasn’t going to say this before because of Sally,” Sasha said tentatively after breaking the kiss “but… I think we should get Maria and your brother away from each other.”
I was already feeling my anger flaring up. Maria hadn’t done anything bad at all “What did he say to her?”
“Nothing mean…” Sasha replied.
—
Sharing rooms was going to be a challenge, even before inviting Maria, but Bonnie was easy going to anyone, and Sally didn’t mind sharing her bedroom as long people were quiet when going to bed while she slept.
Sharing rooms with my brother and Sasha on the other hand, was tense to say the least.
My dear brother Harold fear for Sasha had either vanished or cooled down into quiet glares filled with disrespect that Sasha for his part ignored perfectly every time. I did my best too, but while we sat to bed and my brother changed his clothes, it was hard to ignore, but I waited.
I wanted to talk more important things with him anyway “So…” I started with a milder topic “have you started working out…?” or maybe using steroids.
“It helps me to calm down” Harry said glaring at Sasha.
“Okay” I said uneasy, that got awkward pretty fast “I will just ask… What is up with you calling Maria “pretty and young”? You know about her imprinting?”
Harry blinked confused at me, then glared again at Sasha “Are you spying on people?”
“I can’t help but hear” Sasha said “I am used to tune out things unless they sound relevant.”
“It was none of your business” Harry said and while he was still glaring.
“It wouldn’t be too bad” I said “to say that Maria has her whole life ahead of her, as long it…”
“Her giggles and your laugh” Sasha interrupted “didn’t sound appropriate at all for someone just cheering someone up.”
My brother sighed and tucked himself in the mattress “Sure, you know all about inappropriate flirting,” he closed his eyes and then opened again “also, out!”
It was my time to sigh, and I kissed Sasha goodnight, while he opened the window, looked around, and jumped.
Mom let Sasha come, but didn’t want to sleep with him in the building.
—
With my unusual schedule, the time zone change made me sleep and wake up just the right time.
If Harry hadn’t freaked out with Sasha in the morning, he emitted a scared sound that soon woke me up.
“What are you doing here?” Harry said just when I turned around too look.
“I am sorry for startling you,” Sasha said “but there is matter with you Cousin Bonnie.”
“Huh?” I said still sleepy “what?”
“I noticed that her heartbeat was weird in her sleep” Sasha said, “it sound a lot like my grand-nephew before he died at a similar age and…”
“Oh my god” I said still blinking but getting out of the sleepy stupor.
“Aren’t you supposed to stay away from the house?” Harry said standing up from his mattress “wait, is that blood in your shirt?”
“I went hunting and came back” Sasha said “then I noticed her heartbeat and got the laptop, which was in the car” he added the last part with a little impatience “and emailed Alec with an approximation of her cardio rhythm, he agrees that is a problem.”
I noticed how Harry was scrunching his eyes at “It is too early for this kind of problem,” he was focused on the red spot in Sasha’s orange sweater each was the size of a thumb, but not really noticeable.
“We can talk with Richard” I said.
We managed to find Richard by himself in the kitchen, which was better than talking with Mom there, I guessed, he was alarmed but thanked Sasha.
“You are welcome” Sasha said smiling.
“Oh,” I said “There is another thing that I wanted to say to you”
It was something that Sasha asked Alice on my behalf, and was probably good he did, even if I didn’t care now, I did hope someday I would love my mom and Richard again.
“We checked” I said “and if you and mom turned… you would be each others mates.”
It was amusing how the information made Richard perkier, even if he agreed that mom herself didn’t “need” to know about it, he spend a good part of the day whistling and generally being happier than he generally was in thanksgiving.
—
“Thanks for inviting me” Gabe said again.
“Don’t need to thank me again, dear” Mom said.
Beneath the table, I held his hand for a second, but then broke contact, we did stayed the entire meal occasionally touching our knees and feet, but that was it.
Sally would do raspberries at Gabe, and we both would return the favor until she laughed.
—
Richard’s mom would occasionally look at mine and Sasha’s hands linked over the table, but was trying to polite ignore it, Richard’s dad seemed take some offense over “Sasha’s special medical diet” that meant he wouldn’t eat.
“You can’t look like that and eat like normal people” Bonnie said jokingly from her seat between her aunt and my brother, sipping wine. “Mary could at least give him silverware.”
Of course, to “eat” Sasha had to run to a nearby nature reservation (Edward S. Tomas just because the fates found it ironic) and hunt something unpleasant tasting, but no one would comment that.
Part of me really wished to read minds already, it was weird trying to imagine Bonnie’s defective heart through Sasha’ ears, and she sounded so normal for a person that might have five to ten years of life without medical intervention.
My brother might be wondering similar things considering his looks at her.
“Thanks for inviting me” Maria said again.
“That isn’t a problem at all dear it” Mom started “Sally? What are you doing?”
“Can I sit next to Tomas and Sasha?” Sally said behind Maria’s chair.
“Why?” My brother asked.
“He tells nice stories,” Sally said smiling.
—
Hades was the god of the underworld, now know as the “death god”, he was actually the god of the land of the dead, the earth and mineral riches.
His kingdom of dead was peaceful and separated from the conflicts of the other gods.
The wicked are forced to work in his mines to build vast palaces of gold and gems for the good. His kingdom was a mix of dark and beautiful.
However, Hades wasn’t beyond feeling lonely and would visit his family.
In such visit he saw Demeter, the goddess of harvest and her daughter Persephone.
Little did anyone know, the tricky Cupid decided to shoot an arrow at the god’s heart and the small golden bolt pierced the heart perfectly.
Hades didn’t had the chance to talk with Persephone, and didn’t understood his own feelings, returning to the underworld thinking of her.
Soon the palaces of gold and gems just aren’t as shinning, Hades sought Persephone in the overworld, and consumed by loneness he took her to the underworld as soon as he found her.
With Demeter, Persephone danced around sunny fields of flowers, but Hades’ underworld was dark place, no matter how many palaces of gold, gardens of emeralds and lakes of sapphire Hades gave to Persephone, she would spend her days in tears. Refusing to eat, as that would trap her in the underworld forever.
Finally Hades gave Persephone something just to make her smile again.
Hades freed Persephone and the daughter of Demeter returned to the over world, hearing Hades cries all the way up asking apologies.
In the over world, Demeter missed her daughter so much, that she forgot her duties, crops root and wouldn’t blossom anymore, lands became dry and barren.
All changed when Persephone returned, overnight flows, crops and forest grew everywhere in celebration.
It wouldn’t have gone all perfect for Demeter if Cupid hadn’t a second arrow long overdue to deliver.
—
“Why did she fell in love with him?” Sally said mildly disgusted.
“She realized that he did care about her,” Sasha answered “that he did want her happy.”
I am going to get a very nice Christmas present to Mom, for hearing that without protesting, or giving a sign to the guess, Harry too, but Bonnie did comment if he was feeling ill.
Aside from that the thanksgiving dinner went as good as it was possible.
The problem was the days afterward.
—
One important thing about my brother, or my family in general, that needs to be understood.
They aren’t that bad.
However they were having weird and difficult times because of me, this didn’t mean that my brother wasn’t spending every moment with Sally that he could (which mercifully did gave me some limited private time with Sasha), despite her new found love for fantasy and mythology Sally was still a girl who liked to play with her spaceship… and Harry had the best talent with that kinda of play.
When we were little Harry pushed me away from a beehive, then he poked it to see it was safe, and got stung for it.
Harry does care about his family, but lately his temper has been tested.
That is why, when Sally wouldn’t stop saying how great Sasha was, that my brother shouldn’t be so full of homophobic prejudice (yes, Sally is just that awesome)… my brother told her that Sasha was a vampire.
—
It was the Saturday. Luckily Richard’s parents were visiting a couple of old friends in the other side of town, mom, Richard and Bonnie with them. Sally and Harry were left alone, while Sasha, Maria and me, went for sight seeing, we were closer home, and maybe that was why Harry messaged us.
Harry was at the bottom of the stairs waiting for us, I left him with Sasha and Maria and went to find Sally in her bedroom’s closet.
She wasn’t exactly shocked, at least not anymore. I sat with her, and told her a story.
The story of how I really went to Forks.
I spent a long time alone with Sally, and couldn’t get everything about the supernatural straight out, but managed her to get to understand the most important, and it sure helped that Sasha had presented tales of heavily sanitized versions of “Things you should know about the world 101”.
By the end of it, Maria came upstairs and announced that our parents were arriving, and that Harry really preferred to tell our parents what happened himself, but after the rest of the family left, Sally and I agreed. It would mean that I wouldn’t be around for it, but Sasha being away was probably for the best.
The hours after that had some quiet tension in the air, Sally was less talkative, and Harry kept giving anxious look at all of us.
Then bedtime came and she asked if Sasha could tell her another story.
—
Harry waited until Sasha was away for the night and shook me a little.
“What?” I said impatient.
“Are you saying to everyone in that town,” Harry said “that I took your friends away from you?”
I breathed deeply but found out that the action didn’t help “Why do you mind? It is the true?”
In the darkness I heard my brother breathing deeply.
“You know what?” He said “I am not even a little surprised.”
I didn’t respond at that, and he continued “Mom talks how you are so distant,” I nearly gasped “that she noticed how you had been quiet since Gabe went away, but she has no clue it is because you are so self-centered.”
Neither said a word after that, I didn’t sleep well, tossing and turning in the night, until I finally sat in bed, watching the outline of my brother’s sleeping shape.
I reached and touched his head.
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 15 – Remembering Tears and Touches
***This wasn’t beta-‘ed***
My life in Forks had gone nearly one complete peaceful month full of bliss.
Okay, maybe not “full of bliss”, but I had underestimated how… just opening myself to be… intimate with Sasha was so great. He had started to pick me and Maria at school nearly everyday. Aside from a occasional comment that Sasha picked up with his enhanced hearing, the town was quite accepting and Sasha didn’t do anything but glare maliciously for a second to scare these people (never quite understood how or why, but vampires can just pull a fearsome aura when they want to).
Similarly Santiago picked up Lexi and Cole, taking them to his home, and Danielle started to hang out with Abigail and Robin. I babysit them once to give Santiago and Lexi their alone time, but was dismissed after giving accidentally hitting Robin’s “precious copper-top princess head” (her mother’s words) during a pig-back ride, which didn’t stop me from accompanying them in a trip to watch a movie in Port Angeles.
Danielle seemed a little put off to not being able to share Things with her friends, but was still happy to play the role of “the witch” in their games.
Slowly, Maria started to tolerate Luke’s presence, which was great, because she wanted to stay at my house, Mrs. Morales had been less pushy, but apparently her silence was enough to bother Maria.
Becky told my mother hat I had once spent the night with Sasha, there were an argument, but without any sort of “resolutions”, besides that I shouldn’t stay with Sasha overnight again, and that was fine by me, there were plenty of time to stay with him.
I trained my witchcraft, both by myself, with Addy or at occasion with some of the village folk, Seth in particular had been convinced by Cody to be my main “patient” for relationship recovery.
Almost two weeks after Halloween, Friday. Sasha had to run an errand for the Empire, get a repair piece for the egg bank, at the Forks’ capital, so Maria and I were driving alone back to the village, and she started crying…
—
Veronica and Candace had to be lab partners, no one would trade with her, and after some attempts at getting out of class, Veronica and Candace happened to be in class the same day.
That went as well, as expected and some more.
“You know” Candace said with a evil grim “it took me forever to recognize him,” she motioned to me, making slightly nervous, her voice was just the right volume to be heard where Maria and I were, but not enough for the teacher.
Veronica looked at Candace, like if she was a fly, disgusting and with the desire to hit her, considering her sweater had a web pattern, it was appropriate “Tomas?” she said lowly.
“Yes, remember that day when you and your lot” the last part was said with less malice, and more resentment, but she continued “decided to torment me at my job?” Veronica was about to say something, but Candace continued “well, guess who was at store earlier?”
In fact Veronica and her “lot” had just gone to the place only because they happened to meet Sasha and me outside, but I didn’t share that fact.
“His boyfriend,” Candace motioned to me again and I felt a surge of embarrassment make me red “went to a cabin… alone. I remember that you went out with him the same afternoon, afterwards.”
Candace turned to the front of the class, as the teacher turned away from the blackboard. Veronica however gave me, the “you are a fly that I will snare and eat” look for half a second, before Maria starting to laugh so uncontrollable that the teacher asked her to leave class, which she complied readily while still laughing.
Afterwards, I tried to talk with Veronica.
—
Maria was starting to make sense, after I turned the radio off and she seemed to organize her thoughts
“Mon just won’t” She said “stop, she sometimes just gives this looks, but other times she drops this hints, or imply if Luke and I are… already… if he are already doing…”
I had been snipped from my mother, but was slowly recovering that thread, and the little recovered it made me feel beyond uncomfortable when she forbade “sleepovers” with Sasha.
So the discomfort that Maria must have felt…
—
“Veronica!” I said catching her in the middle of a stone path.
Veronica turned around quickly, almost losing balance, but giving me a angry look when I tried to help her stand.
“What?” She said with a voice colder than Forks weather.
“I just wanted to make it clear,” I said “that Sasha and I aren’t… doing anything in that changing booth.
She let out a skeptical “Really?” and while it might have been my imagination, there was an edge of jealousy there.
“Yes,” I said “we were talking.”
“Talking” Veronica said with the same tone, her eyes narrowing.
I had taken time to elaborate what to say, but was a little uncomfortable to notice some people looking at us, including Chance who seemed unsure if he wanted to come closer or not.
“We weren’t involved,” I said “but I was suspicious… and Sasha hadn’t admitted anything yet, and I was trying to…”
And that was when Veronica slapped me in the face.
It had become easy to use my ability; it was one of the things Addy recommended to train by myself and was extremely easy to do without my mentor, speed, strength and reaction. We soon find out that hand-to-face wasn’t intrinsically necessary.
I grabbed Veronica arm and my power surged through her arm up to her head and then….
—
Miss Waters and her daughters were in front of the mirror, watching her applying make up. Veronica was seven years old and noticed a small moth between two boxes on the table, and was about to reach out to play with it. This memory is much defined, and from long ago.
Miss Waters hand crushes the little bug without looking at Veronica.
“People like butterflies, not moths or caterpillars,” Miss Waters said wiping her hand with a napkin.
—
“And I was thinking when Veronica, you… and… Chance fought” Maria continued wiping her tears with a napkin that I gave to her, as my hand rubbed her back nervously.
—
Chance ran to us faster than I expected, he was the only one, but it was the first to arrive and grab… Veronica hand’s. I hadn’t lost balance with her strike, but was shocked enough to not have reacted when my face turned back to face them. Veronica didn’t seemed to have noticed the memory recovering at all.
“Veronica!” Chance said holding Veronica, the books she was holding falling in the ground “Veronica! Stop this!”
Surprisingly he sounded mad at her, and he looked mad at her. It was an weird expression in his otherwise friendly face.
“Stopping you are making a scene!” Chance said.
Then Veronica turned around and slapped him.
I found myself in the principal office surprisingly fast afterwards.
I was very thankful of Maria for waiting with me, considering that both Chance and Veronica looked daggers at me, while we waited silently to tell what happened, Maria and I returned the glaring.
Each one of us, told our version of the story and waited, Candace was found and called first, and dismissed.
When Sasha I feared for a moment, but he only looked at me and smiled encouragingly his eyes didn’t hover at all towards Veronica.
It was my turn right afterwards, which was great as Sasha could hear and collaborate with what I had made up to Veronica.
The principal looked stern, but heard my story quietly, and asked me if I needed to see the nurse to be sure if I was okay, it took me a second to remember that the Principal thought he was talking with a ill student. I said that was fine.
Veronica was next, and before she went in, Sasha asked her “to not lie and do what is right” without looking at her.
Ms. Waters arrived sometime after Veronica walked, she looked impeccable, like if she was going to a important event or something, and the recovered memory made me wonder how much she had influenced Veronica’s tastes if at all. Ms. Waters didn’t even stop to acknowledge any of us, or to knock in the door.
Veronica got out shortly afterwards, looking uneasy, the principal said from the door “Veronica, wait for your mother, Chance stay too, the rest of you are dismissed.”
“Please…” Sasha said “don’t be unfair with Tomas, he is the victim.”
I was uncomfortable with the gratuitous use of restriction, but at least it wasn’t anything that was bad, and Ms. Waters had that aura of “bribing my daughter out of trouble” pouring out of her.
The principal’s door was closed and we were about to leave quietly.
“Backstabber” Veronica spat obviously not at me.
Maria just turned to stare at her then at Chance, and then back at Veronica “Do you even know what you stole from me?” Maria said bitterly.
The utterly puzzled look in Veronica’s face was enough answer, even if Maria happened to talk only about her earrings. Lexi and Cole were outside and demanded details, Sasha gently held Lexi to prevent her to beat Veronica.
Veronica got a week suspension, but she could come to school grounds to get homework or simply wait for Chance after he was done. The next day Veronica and Chance were walking holding hands, like if nothing had happened the day before.
—
“It is not like” Maria said much more composed “I want them to break up, I don’t want Chance” she sniffed “but… it is not… as if they have to stay together forever. Chance won’t be thinking of her until he dies… they can make achoice.”
Maria fell silent for a long moment “can I stay at your place overnight? Even if Luke is there…” she asked.
“You didn’t even need to ask,” I said smiling soothingly.
—
The early bird club, Cody had unofficially named, and now we had put it more in practice. The next morning we all woke up early and sat in the porch, even Brooke, who didn’t had the habit of waking up in erratic schedules like joined us, as we ate breakfast before the sun went up, and sat in the porch making small talk.
Maria didn’t pay much attention to Luke, but wasn’t visible discomfort over his presence.
She stared at the changing sky becoming clearer.
—
“The poor girl’s life is a mess” Mom said over the phone unaware that one of Sasha’s arms was wrapped around me, while the other was replying a email from Alec.
“I know mom” I said “for what I can see… is not even like she is mad at Luke, but is hard to be comfortable when someone is pushing you to be together.”
I detected a disapproving “humph” barely audible; my mom then said “Sasha will come for thanksgiving?” she asked “is that certain?”
“Only if you want me to go” I said, as far I remember it wasn’t usual of me to be that assertive with her, but we rarely argued.
Being around my family so soon would be beyond weird, without counting Richard’s parents and cousin coming. Alice granted me foresight that my mom was with intention of convincing me to leave Sasha, but if he went too she wouldn’t try anything, still, I was snipped from her and Richard, Sally and his cousin would be the people with I would be mostly comfortable with, Harry was coming and I was dreading sharing rooms with him.
“Fine by me” My mom finally said her tone pleased “but I had an idea, you really liked how no one in your school knew about… things.”
“Well,” I said “at first it was better, but now I having Maria, Lexi and Cole around.”
“How about this…” Mom continued “Maria can come for thanksgiving, it would be a good opportunity to give her a break from the village or that awful girl that was her friend,” mom then quickly added “don’t tell me it wouldn’t be good for her.”
Mom didn’t have restriction powers, she didn’t even had my affections anymore.
However, I couldn’t disagree with her.
After promising that I would invite Maria we said our goodbyes.
“What do you think?” I said to Sasha “I have to admit, it might help Maria, at worse she might tell your family about the snipping, but that is unlikely to be on purpose.”
“True” I said putting my head on his shoulder, but then lifting again “Sasha… how easily can you sneak in and out of a house?”
Sasha paused for only a second before asking “how do Maria’s earrings look like?”
—
Maria was surprised when showed the recovered earrings to her. Sasha got them out while we were at school and except for Luke being a little upset for not being able to help no complication arose from that. Sasha said that he didn’t even need a elaborate descriptions, as they were the only jewelry pieces that hadn’t some insect theme (also Veronica’s room was covered with insects of all kinds, not only butterflies”
Veronica didn’t even showed a slight of suspicion, Maria was mildly upset over this, as she made a point to use the earrings, still, it was useful to make Lexi calm down a bit.
The invitation was well received, by everyone, up to including Luke and Ms. Morales.
Luke was still edgy to talk with Maria, but he smiled at her confirmation to want to go; he expressed some concerns with me over her staying in the same house as Harry, but I assured him that punching people wasn’t his usual behavior at all and that assured him.
Ms. Morales had an interesting response “Sure deer, It would be good to expend a year without thanksgiving.”
“Really?” I asked eating a grilled cheese that she made to me and Maria.
I noticed Maria shuddering and guessed it wasn’t related to what she was eating.
“It was the biggest event of the year in the Waters house” Ms. Morales told cleaning a knife in the sink “they got all the Waters and Waters-in-laws filled the house and even a few tents in the backyard. It was so much food to be cooked that they hired a cook to help me and Maria, and we still got over-worked every year.”
“Oh” I said surprised “wait! Tents? In this weather?”
“There are too many people” Ms. Morales clarified turning to face me “and Veronica’s father’s side of the family likes outdoors enough.”
“They are better than the people that stayed inside the house,” Maria said under her breath.
—
The anxiety of leaving Forks didn’t hold a candle over leaving my house back in California, but it was still something.
Especially because I was leaving people behind, I found myself hugging way more people than I would expect a month before, including Danielle who seemed a little put out for me leaving, I hugged her one extra time.
Maria wasn’t the “fearful-of-airplanes-in-their-first-trip” type she wouldn’t unglue her eyes from the window, and the journey was peaceful and pleasant.
At worse a flight attendant tried to flirt with Sasha but that was before she saw our hands together.
Richard came get us in the airport. Sasha single-handed placed the entire luggage in the car by himself.
Only after that, Richard hugged me, and I had no idea if I would have hugged him earlier.
We arrived at the house that I was supposed to be my home, if Sasha hadn’t happened to cross my way in the street. I left the car and watched the building, by some weird coincidence it started snowing right in the moment. I took a moment to marvel at it, unsure if it was unusual for the season, but caring more about the shape of the snowflakes gliding in the air.
“Tomas!” said an excited shrieking voice that I immediately recognized.
“Sally!” I said kneeling down and opening my arms, as my sister jumped to them.
She collided with me and actually knocked over for a moment all I could see was light brown wavy hair and brown eyes smiling with dimples.
“Snow!” Sally said lifting her head “Oh! Sasha!” and with that she was already gone.
I took a moment to get up, but caught Sally introducing herself to Sasha and Maria, shaking their hands. The scene was just amusing to watch.
“Tomas?” Said a less excited voice, one that without the static of the phones, it was actually harder to recognize immediately, how I could have forgotten that voice?
I turned around and saw my mother standing by the door, looking a little displeased.
—
Harry soon showed up to stand behind my mother, know what is Chelsea and what isn’t is hard, but my eyes quickly glanced over him, and soon locked on him with surprised.
My brother was visibly built, he was never out of shape, but under his sweater his muscles were bigger, not like wolf, not even like Cody, but was impressive.
“Hello, brother” Harry says with a fake smile.
We agreed to pretend around uniformed people, act as cordial as possible, at worse people would assume that the problem with Sasha was being a man (and potentially an adult too), rather than anything else.
“Sally come here!” Mom said “it is snowing.”
“I talking with Tomas’ boyfriend and his friend” Sally complained.
“Just come!” Mom said gritting his teeth, but them relaxing marginally “they need to settle down first. Sasha,” My mom said acknowledging his presence for the first time “bring the things in. Richard your cousin just arrived and is on the backyard.”
Richard left and I took a moment to watch Sasha balancing a ridiculous pile of luggage, Maria approached and even though she was smiling to something behind me, the arms around me startled me.
“How are you Tomas?” my mom said full of concern, which mercifully didn’t sound… unwelcoming like many of the snipped people felt.
“I am fine” I said forcing myself to smile and turning around “oh, Mom, this is Maria. Maria this is my mom, Mary” Harry was still behind her without Sally around his face was coldly disapproving.
“I am glad to meet you,” Mom said, still hugging me “Tomas told me… that you need a break.”
Maria just came short to bow, Harry spoke before she did “I am Harold,” he said his face soften up with a sincere smile “enjoy yourself here and your time away from monster town.”
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 14 – Remembering Things done in the Dark
Maria was sitting alone in a bench, from distance she was unrecognizable, but I knew she was coming as Knives Chau, so the long scarf gave her away.
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 13 – Remembering Devils, Angels, Vampires and Werewolves
“It would be safer if I went with you” Sasha hastily said “even if I went as Lexi’s date.”
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 12 – Remembering Friends
Addy was only slightly more successful than I was with finding a specific memory, but she was more generic “something fun, but not too fun” with end up in that kiss. I tried that on her, and found myself in lots of memory of vampires hunting and feeding. Not exactly my idea of fun.
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 11 – Remembering Rage and Compassion
Never Forgotten 2 - Chapter 10 – Remembering First Kisses
Lexi was unsurprisingly excited to hear (after class while we are alone in the park lot) about my date with Sasha, slightly less surprisingly was Brooke and Emily. Neither Leah nor Danielle gave much reaction to it, but they were busy evaluating jewelry that Thea brought over, apparently she had forgotten which was fake and which was real.
